Caiden 15 months old!

Caiden is now 15 months old! I cant believe it has already been 3 months since his birthday! We are absolutely loving this age! He is so much fun and makes us laugh all the time. He loves to help me with things around the house such as, putting dirty laundry in the hamper and if I need something he likes to get it for me. It is so cute to see how proud of himself he gets when he helps. I recently saw Caiden throwing dirt and food he finds on the floor into the kitchen sink. This tells me that we really have to start watching what we do because he is starting to mimic everything.

The other day I put Caiden in the bath while I was getting ready. While drying my hair I looked over and saw that he was trying to put something in his Boon Spout (a Boon Spout is a cover for the bathtub faucet that has a place that you can put soap in to make bubbles). When I looked closer I noticed it was POOP! It had only been 1 minute since I looked at him and he was squishing poop in his hands and trying to stuff it in the Boon...YUCK!

We had Caiden's 15 month appt. here are the stats...weight: 29.3lbs (94%), height: 33 inches (93%), head: 49.3 cm (95%). He is definitely a big boy!

Caiden is really into planes at the moment. Anytime he hears a plane he runs to the window yelling plane. He will hear a lawn mower or hear Aunt Emily vacuum downstairs and he thinks it s a plane. He is so funny!

What we have been up to...

Bare with me a little bit when it comes to this post. I use this blog to document milestone and to help me remember certain things about the boys. I am not very good at keeping a baby book and think its easier for me to document things through the blog.

We have done a lot of fun things this last month. To much for me to talk about it all but I thought I would list a few. We took the boys to the zoo, the Seattle Children's Museum, park, the beach and we went on a outing and bought Caiden a bird feeder for the deck. Caiden right now LOVES to watch birds so we got a nice feeder so he can watch the birds right out our back door. I always know when he sees birds because he usually yells, "OOOOHHHH" which usually scares the birds away. :)

Caiden is at such a fun age! He is really starting to try to talk. It is amazing how quickly he is picking up on words and there meanings. I love that I can ask him to do something now and he does it. When its time for nap I say, "Caiden its time for night night. Go get your Binky and your Elmo book" and he does it. He will be waiting in his room for me holding his book, so sweet! He has been really trying to work on peoples names at the moment. He can same Jamie (ja-ee), Krystle (ti-ti). We are working on all of the other Aunties names at the moment. He is signing, food, milk, all done, more, fish and book. I love to see him learn! Caiden now has 4 teeth and I can see 2 more trying to come in. So far he has been doing OK with teething and hasn't been to cranky. We are currently transitioning Caiden to one nap a day. If it were up to me he still would be taking 2 but he has made it very clear he is ready for one. This transition has not been fun he has been extremely cranky but everyday seems to be better. Caiden is extremely expressive and loves to make us laugh he is such a ham and loves attention (I think he gets all of that from his daddy)!

Landon is such a happy baby. He is 3 1/2 months old. He is very talkative and smiles a lot. He will literally look us in the eyes and will babble for like 10 minutes straight, it is adorable! He laughed for the first time on Feb. 6, when he was 3 months old. Landon has started to notice Caiden a lot more and loves to watch him. He is now sitting in a Bumbo seat and loves to jump in the Jumperoo. He is also starting to grab at things. Landon is a amazing sleeper and takes good naps through the day and sleeps through the night. We have truly been blessed with kids that sleep well! :)

How are we doing with 2 little ones you may ask? I think we are doing great! Things are not half as bad as I thought they would be. Don't get me wrong we have are moments and my days are busy. But Hughey and I are a great team! After Hughey gets home from work he steps right into daddy mode and plays with the boys so I can get some things done around the house. I really think that I have the best job! I love being a mommy of two little boys and feel really blessed that I am able to stay home and care for them.

Landon

Landon is gettting so big and his looks seem to be changing everyday. He is a really happy baby and loves to smile. Just like Caiden, when he was 2 month's old, Landon is sleeping through the night...Yahoo!!! Landon also rolled over for the first time the other day. We had landon's 2 month appt. here are his stats: Weight - 12.13lbs (78%), height - 23.5 inches(73%), and his head is in the 64%. He has amazingly doubled his birth weight already and has grown just over 3 inches! He is growing just like his big brother at this age.

We don't think that Caiden and Landon look much alike. Caiden has really light skin, like mama, and Landon has olive skin, like his dada! Caiden has really light eyes and Landons look like they will be dark brown, like dada. Caiden seems to have dada's nose and Landon seems to have mama's. Landon's lips are much fuller then Caiden. We looked at my (Mandy's) baby pictures and Landon looks like I did as a baby, minus the olive skin. Caiden has a dimple in his chin, Landon doesn't. It really is hard to tell at the moment but as they get older they may start looking more alike.

It is really difficult to get a pic of the boys together. This is the best I got! Do you think they look alike?

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year as a family of four! We got to spend lots of time with family and the boys got spoiled of course! Christmas Eve we went to Hugheys moms house. We had dinner and exchanged gifts. Then Christmas day we went and spent the day with my moms side of the family in University Place. We havent seen my moms side of the family for a REALLY long time and it was great to see everyone and catch up. Christmas morning we started off by having breakfast with Steve and Emily, hugheys brother in law and sister, then we watched Caiden open his gifts from us. During all of this Landon pretty much just slept.

Caiden Turns One!

Our little boy turned one on November 28th, we can't believe it! We threw a birthday party at our house for Caiden it was a blast. I made homemade mac n cheese and we had some of Caidens favorite fruits. It really feels like yesterday when we were first holding him in our arms as a newborn...now he's walking. Caiden has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. He is such a happy guy and makes so many people laugh. It has been so much fun to see him grow and learn new things. We can't wait to see what this next year brings and the new things he will learn.

We had Caidens one year checkup. Here are his stats: 26.14lbs (92%), 31.75 in (94%), and his head is in the 97% he is a very smart little guy with that big brain. :) He no longer has a bottle which was a little difficult on him at the beginning but he is doing much better now. It also took him sometime to get used to drinking milk but he now likes it! :)

Caiden says a hand full of words: banana (he says nana), nigh nigh, up, mama, dada, bottle (baba), hot (he says hop), when he eats he says num num, and he can sign the words MORE and ALL DONE. He likes to wave hi and bye to people. He is also walking all over the place.

Things he loves: balloons, people (he is quite the little attention hog), bananas, cheese, mama, dada, dogs, trucks and cars, he loves to spin wheels, throw balls, binky, books, peek-a-boo, being chased, grill cheese sandwiches, and LOVES music and dancing.

He has arrived!

Landon Hugh Veal arrived November 5th at 4:28am. He weighed 6.7lbs and was 19.75 inches long. We are so excited that he has finally arrived! He is an extremely mellow baby and sleeps all the time. Since day one he has slept in 3-4 hour increments at night, which is fantastic! Caiden is adjusting to having a brother. He has shown some signs of jealousy but nothing to bad. He has been a little more cranky lately and is not understanding why the baby gets a bottle all the time and he doesnt. He has been giving his brother lots of kisses lately, which is a good sign! He also gets excited when he gets to touch his brother, we are still working on being gentle. :) We are loving having 2 boys now and feel extremely blessed they are here and healthy!

Halloween

I know this post is a little late but better late then never! This was Caidens first Halloween and we had a blast! He loved seeing all the other kids dressed up it was very exciting for him. We took Caiden trick or treating in downtown Edmonds with some friends and there kids. Caiden, along with a couple of his friends, were monkeys!
