Landon's 1st Birthday!

Landon turned one on November 5th, but we celebrated his birthday on the 13th because we were in Utah for a wedding. We seriously cannot believe that our baby boy is one already! Landon is a bundle of fun! He loves his big brother Caiden and wants to do everything that Caiden does. It is amazing how many things he has learned just by watching Caiden (good and bad) such as, how to bark like a dog, make Elephant sounds, how to jump into pillows, how to throw huge tantrums, and how to get angry when someone takes your toy. Landon's first word was dada (he said it when he was 8 months old) and we are still working on mama. Other words he says are, hi, bye bye, down, done, nigh night, Steve (Steve is his uncle and one day he looked at him and said St), dog, banana, woof woof and he likes to make monkey sounds. I have been trying to get Landon to sign for a long time he finally decided to start at 11 months old. His first sign was milk. Once he turned one he started to sign a lot more. He now signs more, thank you, please, snack, shoe, elephant and food.

We had Landon's 1 year dr appt. here are the stats: weight 23.3 lbs (56%), height 30.75 inches (79%) and head 48.3 cm (93%).

Some facts about Landon:

-He LOVES the bath! You even say the word bath and he starts crawling down the hall. He stops at the bathroom door and starts yelling for us.

-He is not walking yet but is super close. Today, actually, is the most steps he has ever taken! He walked almost the full length of the hall way. I am thinking he will be a full walker in just a few days!

-He loves daddy and runs to him right when he gets home from work.

-He is a super busy boy and loves to explore and get into draws and cupboards. If we accidentally leave a door open to the bedrooms he will immediately go down the hall as fast as he can to try to go in the room. I have found him in our bathroom many times. He really keeps me on my toes! :)

-He is going to be our little climber. He loves to climb into a toddler rocking chair we have. I find him using it as a stool to reach stuff on our book case. He tries to climb up a slide we have all the time.

-His favorite foods are cheese, pasta with tomato sauce and bananas.

-He thinks Caiden is hilarious.

-When we tell him no he sits there and argues with us and eventually he gives up. Its hilarious!

-It takes Landon a while to warm up to people. The only people he will allow to hold him all the time are mama, dada and Nana. He will allow other people to hold him but it takes sometime for him to warm up. I believe he maybe our introvert child. He doesn't like it when we have big get togethers. Hugh and I have to hold him a lot of the time because he wont allow us to put him down.

-He likes Elmo just like his big brother.

-He loves books!

-Caiden came up with the nickname Lay-lo. We all now call him that. I think its cute!

-One of my favorite things that Landon does is blow kisses it is so sweet. When he blows kisses he says muah!

-He loves music. Even if he hears someone humming he stops and starts to dance.

-Loves to be chased.

-One of Landons favorite activities is to dive into a pile of pillows. Him and his brother can do it all day! They love it!

-Landon is a AMAZING sleeper! He sleeps 6:30-7:00 everyday and is still taking 2 naps, each nap being 1 hour+.

-Landon has 8 teeth. 4 on top and 4 on bottom.

-Landon is in 12-18 month clothing and wears a size 5 shoe.

Landon-

We love you so much! You are such a fun sweet little boy. You have not only been a blessing to your daddy and me but to Caiden too. He has so much fun playing with you. Your brother loves to have you chase him and play in the fort under the table with him. We love to watch you two playing it makes us so happy. We have loved seeing you grow and learn this last year and cant wait to see what new things you will be doing this next year! We love you so much buddy! Happy 1st Birthday!

We decided to do snacks for his party. Watermelon, Cantulope, berries, hummus and bread, chips and Pirates Booty.

For his party we did a wild animal theme. This is his Lion cupcake cake.

I thought it would be fun to add a picture of Caiden at his 1st b-day. Dont they look so different? Its crazy!

Halloween

For Halloween Caiden was a Lion and Landon was a Monkey. We took them trick or treating in downtown Edmonds with our friends the Arndts. I love trick or treating downtown! They close the streets and all the shops handout goodies to all the kids. Caiden had a great time and thought it was so cool that everyone wanted to give him candy. He would walk up to people and say candy instead of trick or treat! Landon on the other hand didnt enjoy himself as much as Landon. I think all the costumes scared him so he clung to daddy the whole time and would not allow anyone else to hold him. After we trick or treated when took the kids to Starbucks for some hot chocolate.

Caiden saying, "Candy"

Caiden (Lion), Landon (Monkey), Hannah (flower) and Grant (hamburger)

This is how Landon looked the whole night. Not happy and stay with daddy!

If you asked Caiden what he was he would say, "LION GRRRRR!"

Pumpkin Carving!

On Tuesday night we put Landon to bed and carved pumpkins with Caiden. This was his first time and I was very excited to carve with him! Caiden doesn't like to get dirty so I wasn't sure how he would feel about putting his hands in the pumpkin but, he dove right in! We all had a great time!

Sorry the pics are not in order. I was not in the mood for messing with blogger tonight.

I am ready!
Dove right in!

The final product.

Carleton Farms Pumpkin Patch 2010!

We took our annual trip to Carleton Farms with my sisters Jamie, Krystle and her husband Ryan. It was a perfect day to go it wasn't to cold and the sun was out! The boys of course had a great time! Caiden enjoyed exploring, picking up pumpkins and the tractor hayride and Landon loved to drum on the pumpkins and get dirty crawling on the ground! Once we finished picking our pumkins we got Hot Chocolate and went to Costco for pizza. It is always so much fun watching the boy enjoying themselves. Cant wait to go again next year!

Chelan Trip!

We took our first family vacation with our friends the Arndts...Mike, Mallory, Grant (2) and Hannah (10 months) August 8th-August 15. We had a great time! I was a little anxious about how the boys would do but they did great. They even did wonderfully on the long car ride! The condo we stayed in was a 2 bedroom so the Arndts had one room and we had the other. Our room had a bathroom so Landon slept in a pack n play in the bathroom and Caiden stayed in the room with us. The boys slept great and napped great! I was really shocked but, very relieved! Our condo was in a perfect location we were right on the lake, near a park and the pool. Our days consisted of playing at the park, throwing lots of rocks in the lake (Caidens favorite thing to do), boat rides, swimming in the pool and enjoying one anothers company. When it came to swimming Caiden is not the biggest fan. He was actually afraid and preferred to play around the outside of the pool but Landon loved to swim. Landon is going to be our fish child!

Thanks Arndts for inviting us on this trip! We had a great time! Lets do another trip together again next year! Love ya guys!

First time playing tee-ball

LOVES the water!

Both boys were ready to be done...but we had to get a family pic! :)

Landon 9 Months!

Landon and Mama

Landon and Dada at the hat store in Leavenworth!

HAHA! He was mad because I told him to stop eating sand! He is a sensitive little guy!

LOVES to swing!

Landon turned 9 months on Aug 5th! I know I am a little late with ths post considering he is now 10 months but, better now then never! Landon is such a sweet fun boy! We are so blessed to have 2 amazing little boys! Landon absolutely loves Caiden. Caiden is really the only person that can make Landon laugh hard. Its amazing how many things Landon has learned just by watching what Caiden does. Landon is a amazing sleeper, he takes 2 naps a day and sleeps 12 hours a night! We had Landons 9 month appt. and here are the stats: weight 21.10 lbs (69 %), height 29 inches (76 %), Head 47 cm (91 %). The funny thing is this was Caidens stats when he was 6 months old...yep you read that right 6 months! HA! Landon is quite a bit smaller then Caiden was at this age. It is amazing how the boys are so different. They look different, Caiden seemed to do things early and Landon is taking his time and so far there personalities seem to be a little different. It will be interesting to see them when they are older!

Here are a few facts and likes of Landon:

-Started crawling a few days before he turned 9 months.
-Pulled himself up to standing position a day before he turned 10 months -He started saying dada at 7 months and mama at 10 months
-Whenever he hears the song, "If Your Happy and you Know it" (which is Caidens favorite song) he claps his hands through the whole song!
-He LOVES to play peek-a-boo. It's absolutely adorable, he covers his face with his hands. The funny part is one hand covers one eye and the other hand he places on the side of his head! He started doing this at 8 months.
-His fav foods at the moment bananas and cheese!
-When he hears people laugh he does a fake laugh to copy, very funny! I need to get a video of it.
-He loves following Caiden around.
-He has always been a fussy baby but once he started crawling he has been really good. He doesnt fuss to much.
-OMG! He is busy! Caiden has always been such a mellow kid but Landon gets into everything. He loves to explore and get into cupboards. I have a feeling he is always going to keep us on our toes!
-Loves the water! I definitely think he is going to be a water kid!
-He loves to snuggle before bed. I hum to him and rock him before bed, I love it!
-As of now he is refusing to Sign. I have been trying for months and he just screams at me if I sign the word "more".
-He has started to wave and give kisses.
-He has also started to dance.
-He loves to be sung to just like his brother.
-He is sensitive! I have to watch my facial expressions around him. If we look upset in anyway he starts to cry. He has always been sensitive! He seems to be getting a little better now that he is older.
-He is currently wearing 12-18 month clothing.
-He has 5 teeth, 2 on the top and 3 on the bottom. Its funny because the two on top are not the top front 2. He has the side 2 teeth. He looks a little funny with a huge gap in the front!
Here is a few quick little story I want to share just because I want the boys to read them when they are older.

I was giving the boys a bath one day when I heard Caiden say pee! I look over and he is peeing on Landon! Lovely!

We have a seat in the tub for Landon. I look over one day while I was bathing them and Landon had escaped out of the seat and was standing in it! Yikes! I think this is a good example of the fearlessness in this kid. Or maybe he is a normal kid! I am just comparing him to Caiden and he never was able to get out of that seat.

We love our boys so much! It is definitely challenging raising two boys this close in age but it is fun to see them grow and learn together! We would never change a thing! We love you!
