Caiden's First Haircut!

Caiden got his first haircut on July 14th. It was long over due! I had wanted to get his haircut a long time ago but everyone kept telling me "no dont cut it!" because it is so curly. I am so glad we did...it looks so great! He cried during most of the cut until I gave him a buzz light year toy to play with and then he calmed down for a while. Some friends told me about this place in Edmonds, Fey's Shear Delight, that cuts kids hair a dollar for each year old they are. So it only cost us $1.00 to get Caidens cut plus tip! I think she did a great job and we will definitely being go back for future haicuts!

Before-I love his curls but his hair is so crazy!

4th of July!

For the 4th of July we went over to grandma Sonias house. We had dinner and then went home to put the kids to bed. The original plan was for us to put Landon to bed at Grandmas house and then see if Caiden could stay awake to see the Edmonds fireworks. Unfortunatley, everyone ended up with bad colds (except for Caiden) so we all went home to go to bed early. I am so surprised that the boys were able to sleep through the fireworks...it seriously sounded like a war was going on outside of our house!

This is a picture of Caiden 4th of July of 2009! He is a few weeks younger then Landon was this 4th!

Landon 4th of July 2010!

I love this pic! You have know idea the things we had to do to get this picture! We were jumping and saying silly things to get them to look and smile! :)

Whatever Caiden thought was funny Landon didnt!

Apparently we were funny to Landon!

Out door fun and Berry picking!

Now that summer has officially begun we have been spending a lot of time outside. We bought the boys a water table and a sandbox to play with in the backyard which has brought much entertainment!

A couple weeks ago we went berry picking with our friends the Arndt's. We decided we would go to Biringer Farms. When we arrived they were just closing...bummer! So instead of being able to pick berries we bought a couple flats of berries and allowed the kids to run around a play for a bit. There is always next year I guess!

Caiden and Grant laughing together! They are so funny!

Landon hanging out on the porch.

I think this pic is funny! Grant makes Caiden laugh a lot!

Caiden is 18 months!

Caiden turned 18 months on May 28...I know he will be 19 months tomorrow I am a little late with this post. We are loving this age! Caiden has a fantastic sense of humor, he loves to laugh and make others laugh. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn't say a new word and it always takes us by surprise. It really is amazing how much they learn and are capable of at this age. Amongst all of the good in Caiden he is a typical 18 month old and throws tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants. All around Caiden is a really mellow kid and we are so blessed to have him as our son!

Here are a few things that Caiden loves:

-Landon- He is a wonderful big brother and is always looking out for Landon. He lets me know if Landon needs me or if Landon is touching something he is not supposed to.
-Being outside
-The Zoo and Aquarium (we have memberships thanks to Grandma Sonia!)
-Fruit (especially berries and applesauce)
-Dada and Mama (also known as Bob...I will explain this more later)
-Airplanes and Trucks
-Music
-Dancing (the boy is seriously a dancing machine)
-Being the center of attention (he will do anything to make people laugh)
-Being chased and chasing others
-Bubbles
-Looking out the window
-LOVES Books and reading
-Jumping on our bed
-The Park
-His buddy Grant and Hannah
-Playing in his closet
-His hat and sunglasses
-Making animal sounds (dog, monkey, lion-grrr, horse)
-Vacuum

A few weeks ago Caiden had a bad fall that scared me to death! We were at my parents house and he ran to there back door. He thought the screen door was closed and went to lean on it and fell down 2 cement stairs, head first! Of course he was screaming and just wanted dada. Lucky for him he just got a huge scrape and lump on his forehead, it could have been a lot worse. (see pic below)

Caiden has started to call me by a new name..."Bob!" I have no idea why he calls me Bob but Hughey and I have a theory. Hughey calls me mom and babe so maybe he is putting those together some how and mom and Bob have the same mouth shape so that could be a possibility. So for now I am Bob! I must admit I miss hearing him call me mama but I know eventually I will hear it again!

I have stopped keeping track of the words Caiden says because its to hard to keep up with him but, here are a few of his most recent things he is saying...

Hand (hom)
shoe (sh-low, it actually sounds like slow)
NO!
cheese (he signs and says this word)
Yeah!
more (he has always signed this word and recently started saying it)
throw (fro)
bye bye
Basketball (baba)
Mailman ("mama," of course the mailman gets to be called mama)
train

I have been teaching Caiden animal signs here are some that he knows...

giraffe
lion
fish
tiger
elephant
bear

A few other things...
Caiden has 8 teeth and 2 molars are currently coming.
He has SUPER curly hair.
He is now wearing 2T clothing and a size 7 shoe.
Caiden only gets his binky for nap and bedtime and is surprisingly do FANTASTIC! He never asks for it during the day and never trys to steal Landons. I am really shocked he has done so well without it...he was so in LOVE with his binky!

I know this is really long but these are things that we wanted to remember!

Mothers Day and Baby Dedications!

Ok I know this is way late but better late then never! I had a great Mothers Day! I love being a mommy! I am blessed that my husband works so hard so I am able to stay home and care for our sons. I love to watch them learn, grow and have fun!

On Mothers Day the boys were dedicated at church. It was nice that a lot of our family was able to go see the boys be dedicated. All 4 of us went on stage and Hughey introduced us and read a scripture we chose for the boys. The scripture was Mark 12:30 "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." We chose this scripture because this is something we want the boys to live by. If you love the Lord then everything else will fall into place and you will obey him.

I was really nervous about bring the boys on stage I wasnt sure how they would handle it. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, Caiden kept saying down and saying Papa (which is my dad) and Landon was good as long as I kept the binky in his mouth.

I love you so much Caiden and Landon! You bring so much joy to my life!

We are finding very difficult to get family pics at the moment. The boys are never very into it but at least we are all looking at the camera. Its funny because Landon does not look happy, HA!

On stage listening to other families being introduced

I had no idea he was smiling! Apparently he liked being the center of attention!

Landon is 6 months!

Landon is now 6 month s old, we cant believe it! We had his 6 month appt and here are the stats: Weight 19.13 lbs (86%), height 27 inches (72%), and head 45.6cm (92%). It is amazing how much he has grown considering how tiny he was when he was born. He has already tripled his birth weight! :) Landon is such a wonderful addition to our family. Caiden absolutely loves him and thinks its fun to make Landon smile. Landon of course loves Caiden and watches everything he does. Landon is sitting up now and is quite the little roller. I put him down some where and leave the room, when I come back he is on the other side of the room. He started solids a few weeks ago and is doing pretty good now. It took him a while to adjust to solids. He is not a fan of rice cereal he prefers oatmeal. There really hasn't been anything that he has completely rejected but he makes it clear that he doesn't like certain foods, but will eat it any ways! :)

Other things that Landon loves:
-swinging at the park
-being outside
-Mommy (he is a mommies boy and I love it!)
-Caiden
-fruit
-he loves being thrown in the air
-he loves jumping
-chewing on EVERYTHING
-being tickled
-Patty Cake
-peek-a-boo

Landon is starting to become a lot more vocal and laughs a lot more. He has a huge smile that brightens everyones day!

I realized that i never did a post for Caiden at 6 months. I thought it would be fun to add Caidens stats to Landons so we could compare them.

Caidens stats 6 months:
weight 21.9lbs (96%)
Height 29 inches (99%)
Head 45.5cm (90%)

I remember at 6 months Caiden was sitting up and started crawling at about 7 and a half months old. Landon has so far shown no interest in crawling. It will be interesting to see when he starts.

Caiden was a whole 2 inches taller then Landon and weighed about a pound and a half more. its funny that Caiden was bigger but his head was a little smaller then Landons!

Playing with Hannah who is the same age!

Loves playing with his big brother!

Holds his own sippy cup!

Likes to eat!

Having fun at the park with the family!
