Landon Admitted to the Hospital.

Caiden had caught a cold which instantly made me so nervous because I knew that Landon would catch it.  Well, he did!  I started to nebulize Landon the first day he showed signs of getting sick, even before he was wheezing hoping it would help...it didn't.  On day 3 of his cold the treatments weren't really helping he was only lasting about 2 hours or less between treatments.  He should be lasting about 4-6 hours.  So Hugh and I knew we needed to bring him in to get a stronger treatment and to get a steroid.  Unfortunately, the Dr. office was closed already so we had to bring him to Childrens Hospital.  We arrived about 7:00 pm.  My mom came over and watched Caiden for us while we took Landon.  Then when we found out we were staying overnight Steve and Emily stepped in and took the monitor (they live downstairs) so my mom could go home and sleep.  Landon's wheezing was scored a 8 out of 10.  So they brough him back and had to do a hour long treatment on him.  Luckily, Landon was so tired he fell asleep on me and stayed asleep through the whole treatment.  They also gave him a steroid.  After the treatment the Dr.'s informed us we needed to stay for a hour to see how he does.  After the hour they noticed that Landons oxygen saturation was a little low.  Nothing dangerous, but it was staying about 91%. They were worried that if we took him home that it would go to low when he sleeps because naturally it does go down when we sleep.  So they informed us that we need to admit Landon to the hospital.  After much discussion, Hugh and I decided I would stay with Landon and he would go home to sleep and care for Caiden.  By this time it was 2:00 am.  We were exhausted and so was poor Landon.  The Dr.'s informed us they didn't want to give Landon any oxygen yet they wanted to watch him while he slept to see what happens.  Landon woke up about 8:00 am and the nurses came into check his vitals.  They informed me that the lowest his oxygen got was 89% which isn't bad.  They told me if it had went under 88% is when they would have given him oxygen.  They told me he would probably be going home today but we had to wait for the Dr's to make their rounds first.  They Dr's didn't even come to see Landon till after 1:00 pm.  What was more frustrating is my phone had died so I couldn't call Hughey to let him know what was going on.  Luckily the hospital had chargers you could borrow. Yahoo!  The bad part was it was on the 5th floor and Landon was quarantined (he had a virus) to his room. So, I had to leave him with a nurse so I could go get food (I was starving) and to get the charger.   I felt terrible leaving him with someone he didn't know especially in this situation where he was sick and not in a familiar place.  I rushed and when I came back he wasn't screaming anymore. He was sitting on the nurses lap reading a book.  After needing one more small treatment we were discharged at 4:30 pm.  Then we had to wait another half hour for his prescription.  I have never seen Landon so happy when we told him it was time to go home!  He had been asking about daddy and Caiden all day!

We are so blessed to have so much family around us to help out when we are in situations like this.  My mom came to our house while Caiden was napping so Hughey could come help me with Landon in the hospital. Then she got him up and brought him to her house.  After we left the hospital we picked Caiden up at my parents had dinner there and finally went home.  Landon was so exhausted he passed out instantly when we got home. Thanks to Nana, Steve and Emily for helping out!

Landon was such a trooper during this whole thing!  He would cry when the nurses came in and cling to me but would quickly stop to show them the backhoes outside lol! Sadly, I think he is getting used to Dr's now since we see them everytime he has a cold.  I wanted to add, we had the best room at the hospital ever!  When we woke up in the morning and looked out the window it was a construction site.  Landon stood up in his crib and yelled HOE (his word for backhoe). He was so excited! We got to watch Diggers, backhoes, dump trucks and cranes all day long.  It really kept him occupied!

I didn't have a camera with me and my phone was dead most of the time.  But here are a few pics I was able to take before we left the hospital.  They are phone pics so they aren't the best of quality.

Looking out the windows watching the construction.

In the hospital crib wearing my badge.  He didn't have to stay in there.  We spent a lot of time running around the room and hiding in cupboards! HA!

This being our 3rd ER visit in under a year I came prepared with a bag of books, cars and snacks!

Sesame Street Live...Elmo's Healthy Heros!

On May 22nd, we took the boys to see Sesame Street Live at the Comcast Arena in Everett, all thanks to Grandma Sonia of course!  Grandma bought us 4 tickets and they were great seats.  We were on the ground level 2nd row! Hugh and I were so excited to bring the boys to see the show.  Both of our boys LOVE Sesame Street.  The day of the show we told Caiden we were going to Sesame Street, he was extremely excited.  I am thinking that Caiden was assuming we would be watching Sesame Street on a TV or something because the look on his face when the large character's came out was complete AWW and shock! It was priceless!  Caiden sat through the whole show and if a Character he loved like Ernie went off stage he would look at me and say, "Where did Ernie go?"  Landon on the other hand was a little freaked out for the first 15-20 minutes he clung to daddy and wouldn't look at the stage.  I think he assumed if he didn't look at them then they wouldn't come near him! HA!  Once he realized they weren't going to touch him or come to close he loosened up and sat in his own seat and enjoyed the show.  The show was a little long for him and he started to get a little antsy towards the end.  I would say the highlight for Caiden was when Elmo and Abby came off stage and gave him a high 5!  He was thrilled!  At one point during the show one of the female grouches came to give him a high 5 but he refused! LOL! Up to this day if you ask Caiden, "who did you get to give a high 5 to?" He will say, "not the grouch!" Hugh and I even enjoyed the show.  It brings us such joy to see our kids having fun! We are definitely going again next year! Thanks Grandma Sonia for the thoughtful gift!  The boys (and their parents) had a great time!

Caiden's Cut Eye...A Visit to Urgent Care

About a month ago Caiden was playing in the playroom while I was cooking dinner.  He suddenly came running into the kitchen holding his eye and crying.  He could really tell me what happened he was to upset.  So I assumed he got poked in the eye.  It was weird because he kept saying, "take it out" as if it felt like something was in his eye.  Finally after about 15-20 minutes he was able to open his eye and he continued to play.  It really didn't seem to be bothering him anymore.  After dinner Hugh gave the boys a bath.  He called for me and asked me if something happened to Caiden's eye because he was rubbing it then was crying like it hurt. I told what I knew.  Then he looked closer and could see a cut right over Caiden's pupil.  I called the nurse hotline and then told us we needed to bring him to urgent care to be looked at.  Sure enough he cut his eye.  They put drops in and had to patch his eye so he wouldn't rub it.  Caiden did amazing at Urgent care he allowed the nurses to clean his eye and to put the drops in without much of a fuss!  The eye heals amazingly fast by the next morning we were able to remove the patch and we couldn't even see the cut anymore.  I brought him back for a follow up visit and his eye healed great!  To this day Caiden still cant tell me exactly what happened.  All he says is his kitchen did it.  I am thinking it happened so fast he doesn't really know what cut his eye.  The pictures are from my cell phone so they aren't the best quality.
I also have a cool video we took of the cut in his eye but blogger isn't allowing me to download it.  They put drops in his eye so they can see the cut under a black light.  It was cool and gross at the same time.  If your friends with me on facebook you can see the video there.

It was past bedtime he was super tired and fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Caiden's Big Boy Bed!

About a month ago, we decided it was time to start thinking about getting Caiden a new bed.  He has never climbed out of his crib but he is getting really tall so we thought it was time. We decided to get bunk beds since we knew Landon would eventually need a bed too and the boys would one day be sharing a room.  I took Caiden to Target to pick out some bedding.  He could careless what bedding I got so I picked out what I thought he would like.  I must admit I was nervous about getting him in a bed.  He is a great napper and I was worried that he wouldn't nap anymore because he would just get up and play.  Was I ever so wrong!

This last weekend Hugh set up Caiden's bed.  We kept his crib up just in case we couldn't keep him in the bed. Before bed Hugh read Caiden some books and we told him that he is not allowed to get out of his bed if he needs something he is supposed to yell for us.  We also told him in the morning he had to stay in bed until we came and got him.  We laid him down and shockingly he went right to sleep! We couldn't believe it!  Was it really going to be this easy?  Caiden never falls asleep right away. He normally plays in his crib for a hour or so before falling asleep.  Then the next morning he woke up and stayed in his bed until we got him!  He has done this every night since! Oh and naps have also been great and I havent had any issues.  He goes right to sleep and waits for me to get him when he wakes up!  He is actually sleeping a lot better now that he has a big bed! What a good boy!  I must admit I did not see it going this way at all!  I am so proud of Caiden! Good job buddy!

I might add we have a video monitor and its funny to see Caiden sleep in his bed.  He is all over the place!  Most of the time he wakes up at the end of the bed. LOL!

 His crib

This was Caiden's room before.  The rocking chair is in Landon's room now.

 Last time in his crib!

New bed! Caiden loves cars and trucks! So he loved the bedding!
We set the bed up and showed Caiden for the first time when it was done. When he walked in and saw it he said "Big Boy Bed!"

After.  We haven't painted because we are renting so thats why the room is a little plain!

This was his first night! He totally passed out right away!

Landon is 18 months!

Our little buddy Landon turned 18 months old on the 5th.  We had his doctors appointment and here are the stats: weight-26.14 lbs (64%), height-33 inches (72%) and Head-49.9 cm (94%).

Seriously, where does the time go!  I cant believe it has already been 6 months since Landon's Birthday.  I really wish I could freeze time!  I sometimes look back at the boys baby pics and cry because I know one day they wont be my little guys anymore.  So, I try my best to enjoy every moment with them because they are growing so fast! Tear...

Landon is a happy smiley little guy!  He is an amazingly sweet little boy, he laughs a lot and and is super laid back! Landon loves Caiden so much and is the typical, little brother, and wants to do everything Caiden does.  Landon is a typical rough and rugged little boy! He loves to wrestle with daddy and Caiden. He is busy, fearless, loves to run and loves to adventure.  He is also a big instigator.  He likes to pick fights with Caiden.  He knows exactly what to do get Caiden upset.  It is amazing what they understand at 18 months old!  Caiden will set down his cup and Landon will wait till Caiden isn't looking, then he will grab it and run away as fast as he can. I must admit it is kind of funny to watch! What a little stinker! Ha!

Landon is a HUGE daddies boy!  When hugh comes home from work or when its the weekends Landon doesn't want much to do with me.  He even asks about daddy throughout the day while he is at work.  I think its super sweet! I must admit I get a little upset when he rejects me but I know that daddy loves it! :)

We are so in love with our little Lay-lo!

Landon facts:

-Landon is wearing 18-24 month clothing
-He is in size 4 diapers
-He wears a size 6 shoe
-He loves the color yellow.  We noticed that he always collects the yellow cars and trucks to play with.
-He is an amazing sleeper and always has been.  He sleeps 12 hours + every night and takes a 2 hour nap everyday!
-He is our little climber and was able to climb on the coach at a young age.  He climbs on everything and anything possible.
-He knows some of the sounds of the alphabet. He knows: A,B,C,H,L,M,O,T,S,W
-Landon loves to run! He always will ask me to run around the house with him.
-He is a picky eater.  He will just look at something and decide he doesn't like it before he even tries it!
-Landon was diagnosed with Asthma about a month ago.  He only seems to be affected when he has a cold which seems to be all the time especially since he is a toddler.  We are praying that this is something he will grow out of when he is older.  The Dr said it is very possible he will grow out of it eventually.
-He is starting to bust out of his shell a little and isn't as shy as he once was.  He used to have severe stranger anxiety but within the last few months it has gotten better.  There are still only a couple of people I am able to leave him with where he doesn't scream and cry the entire time.  I can now leave him in the cart while going through the checkout line at Costco without him screaming the whole time...now thats progress!
-Landon is becoming quite the little chatter box.  I love it!  It is so fun to have conversations with him.  He is really able to tell us what he wants which is always helpful! Here are some of the more recent things he has started to say: hurt, backhoe (he says hoe, lol), train choo choo, outside, bed, ride, back, grandpa (for hughey's dad), duck, Elmo, baby, sad, yogurt, Emi (for auntie Emily), sad, baby, mailman, help, man, hippo, burp, toe and bus.
-Landon calls all people man.  HAHA! It is so cute! If we go to the grocery store he points to people and says "Man."  I guess he is technically correct!
-He LOVES LOVES LOVES books.  I will find him often sitting quietly looking through books and talking to himself.  He will turn to certain pages and remember what's happened and start talking about it.  So sweet!
-He also LOVES music and dancing.  When we are in the car I will have the radio on and look in my mirror and see him dancing in his car-seat!
-His favorite toys are cars and trucks!
-He calls his binky DEE! I have no idea why!
-Loves to take baths!
-When he wants a kiss he says MUAH MUAH!!! So sweet!

We are so blessed to have you in our lives buddy!  Cant wait to see what you do and learn in the next 6 months!  Love you!

Love this smile!

Being silly!

I love this pic of daddy and Landon checking out the Otters at the zoo!

The boys love when Hughey puts their shirts on their heads.  They run around like crazy! LOL!

Loves playing with brother!

After a bath!

Reading quietly to himself! Love this!

Easter egg hunt and Easter day!

The Saturday before Easter we took the kids to a Easter egg hunt at the zoo. This is the second year we took the boys and although its fun I am thinking we will do something different next year.  When we took the boys last year it was freezing outside, so it wasn't very crowded.  This year is was insanely crowded because it was so nice outside.  Even though it was super crowded we all had a great time.  After the egg hunt we walked around the zoo and checked out all the animals.

On Easter morning we watched our church service online.  This year our church, Mars Hill, had service at Quest field.  By Gods grace there were 17,500 people and 600+ baptisms, AWESOME!  After the boys naps we went over to Grandma Sonia and Chris's house for dinner.  The boys looked so cute in their matching shirts!

I might add the boys were extremely spoiled this year.  Grandma Sonia and Chris got them a bubble lawn mower for outside, lawn chairs and a huge piano mat that they walk on to play music.  Nana and Papa got them their owe chairs for in the house from Ikea, a few new cars and a new car ramp.  Grandpa Hugh and Laura sent the boys a music CD and 3 new books. It seemed more like Christmas then Easter because of all the gifts!  Thanks to everyone that got the boys gifts!

Landon had so much fun getting the eggs and putting them in his basket!

Checking out what he has so far!

Caiden was wondering why there was nothing in the eggs.

Learning how to open and close the eggs with dad.

I love his cheesy grin! :)

Best family pic we could get.  Landon was not happy that we stopped his egg hunt for a pic.

Easter baskets filled with books, big plastic Beetle, plastic Grasshopper (they love playing with fake animals and bugs), and some toy diggers and tractors.  We also found a color wonder kit from Costco.

 "OHHH whats that!"

 Checking it out!

I love this picture!  Caiden was distracted with something else so Landon hoarded all of the new diggers and tractors and played with them by himself!

Easter pic! Landon, Caiden and Cousin Easton!  They all look so handsome in their Easter outfits! The outfit Easton is wearing is the same outfit Caiden wore for his first Easter!

Landons First Haircut!

Landon had his first haircut today!  Surprisingly he did really well!  We decided to cut his hair because it was starting to get a little crazy.  Everyday was becoming a struggle to get his hair to lay down.  Everyone that knows Landon knows that he has stranger anxiety BAD!  So when I made the appt I warned the lady that he may freak-out the entire time we are there, but that wasn't the case at all!  Surprisingly he did better then Caiden did for his first cut.  Great job Landon!  I think he is starting to out grow his anxiety some.  When I put him in the seat he started screaming but once she started to cut he stopped and held really still and was quiet.  I think he thought it felt really good because his eyes started to droop a little.  He looks so cute with his new cut!  I am not liking how grown up he looks though.  He lost whatever baby looks he had left with the loss of his baby curls! :(
Really upset about being in that chair! This is also the before shot!

Curls in the back!  Yes I am being mean and holding his face! Ha!

Quit crying right when she started to cut!

 Making faces in the mirror.

 This kind of feels good!

 After!  So handsome!

Scaring mommy with a Cheetah while Caiden is getting his haircut!

 So cute!

No more curls!
